AASC Purchases New 16' x 30' Autoclave

Applied Aerospace Structures Corp. (AASC) has purchased a new, large diameter autoclave to increase capacity and manufacture larger composite and metal bonded structures.

This autoclave will be fully operational by October 1, 2004. It has a working temperature capability of 500 °F and working pressure of 105 psi. Bridge and floor load capacity is 25,000 lbs.
The autoclave will be controlled by TEC’s next generation control system, Autoclave Manager. This system will manage 36 thermocouple inputs and sixteen vacuum ports. Backup systems will be installed to maintain instruments, controls and data during any unforeseen power failures.
