AASC AS9100 6 Month Assessment Audit was a success!

AASC was proud to be certified to AS9100 Rev C in April 2011. AASC is only 1 of 90 facilities (approx. 40 companies) worldwide to have received the Rev C certification. After aquiring the Rev C certificate, the AS9100 6 month assessment was conducted on November 3, 2011. This audit was a complete success with ZERO findings.

Static Load testing on the Intelsat IS-27 Bus Module successfully completed!

AASC successfully completed static load testing of the Intelsat IS-27 Bus Module in August. At the Building 6 test cage at AASC, the 702MP Bus Module satisfied the Intelsat programs test criteria for acceptance.

AASC Successfully Manufactures Antares Components!

AASC manufactures six composite structures for the Antares Launch Vehicle.  This consists of Payload Fairings, Fairing Adapter, Motor Adapter, Interstage, Payload Adapter, and an Avionics Cylinder.

AASC will fabricate all components in our state-of-the-art, 271,000 square foot, Stockton facility.

NASA's Dawn Spacecraft Enters Orbit Around Asteroid Vesta

NASA's Dawn spacecraft becomes the first probe ever to enter orbit around an object in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. AASC designed the High Gain Antenna, fabricated the structure, integrated and aligned the RF feed and polarizer, and performed environmental testing, thermal cycling, structural and thermal analysis, and sine and random vibration and acoustics. The satellite will stop weekly and aim the High Gain Antenna towards Earth for communications and to conduct engineering activities.  

Successful Launch of GPS IIF-2, Signals Received

The GPS IIF-2 launched sucessfully from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The first on-orbit signals are now being received.  Controllers confirmed initial contact with the spacecraft at a ground station on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.  GPS signals from the spacecraft payload will be turned on for test purposes.

AASC supports NASA LRO spacecraft with Hi Gain Antenna

NASA declared the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) a complete success! The LRO changed our view of the entire moon and brought it into sharper focus with unprecedented detail.

AASC designed the High Gain Antenna, performed structural and thermal analysis, fabricated the structure, integrated and aligned the RF feed and polarizer, and performed environmental testing including thermal cycling, sine and random vibration and acoustics. The High Gain Antenna utilizes the same basic sub set of materials and construction techniques which have also been used on more than 100 other reflectors fabricated by AASC. The antenna met all performance requirements.

AASC receives award from Boeing Satellite

AASC received an Award from Boeing Satellite for the successful delivery of the Bus & Payload Structural Panels & Assemblies for the first 702MP Spacecraft, Intelsat IS-22

AASC AS9100 Audit was a success!

AASC is now certified to AS9100 Rev C.  The AS9100 audit was conducted on April 26th to April 29th.  The audit for Revision C was very successful.
