Composite Optical Bench

AASC has fabricated several composite optical benches and thermally stable structures for the space industry.  These structures require the use of precision alignment techniques and equipment currently available at AASC.

Precision Composite Optical Bench

 

The precision composite optical bench pictured was fabricated at AASC.  It is approximately 1-meter by a half meter squared.  Very tight tolerances and minimal thermal expansion were key design drivers.  AASC participated in design reviews and was a key contributor to the overall design of this structure.
