Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer works closely with Program Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Planners and Purchasing Agents to ensure deliverable hardware meets all requirements from start to finish. This position requires someone with a good eye for detail and a desire to work on a wide array of unique and exciting programs. Quality Engineers must have knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office). Previous experience in the aerospace industry and 3D inspection (Photogrammetry, Laser Tracker, CMM) experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
  • Review/Approval of Manufacturing Instruction Documents
  • Direct Supervision of assigned Quality Assurance Inspectors. This includes daily assignments, training, vacation scheduling, and Time & Attendance.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to verify all requirements are satisfied, contractually and technically correct on each program. This includes preparing Certificates of Conformance verifying contractual requirements
  • Identifying to the PM or Director of Quality Assurance any resource requirements needed to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Interface with the customer quality department and vendors as needed, including teleconferences, customer visits vendor audits, source inspection, etc.
  • Reviews and presents non-conformance report/NCR to the CAB meeting
  • Support QA Director with maintenance and implementation of the overall quality system.
Requirements:
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Good working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Strong computer background, with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Access.
  • Associate level should have a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years experience in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Familiarity with ISO standards
  • Ability to read and interpret Mylar’s and blueprints
  • Experience with non-conformance reporting

    The salary range for this role is $68,000-80,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this open role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
