Role Description:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence within the aerospace industry. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating market research, and implementing strategies to achieve competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the aerospace industry.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve growth and increase market share.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, government entities, and suppliers.
- Lead the development of proposals, bids, and presentations in response to RFPs, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Negotiate and close business deals to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to align company offerings with market needs.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand visibility and build industry connections.
- Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to inform business strategy and maintain competitive advantage.
- Prepare and present reports on business development activities, market trends, and performance to senior management.
- Utilize CRM systems to track leads, manage client interactions, and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Proven experience in managing sales processes, from lead generation to contract closure.
- In-depth understanding of the aerospace market, including technologies, regulatory frameworks, and key players.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with pricing models and contract negotiations.
- Experience with proposal management, contract negotiation, and managing long-term client relationships.
Skills & Abilities:
- Business Acumen: Extensive knowledge of the aerospace industry and business practices, with the ability to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term business strategies and execute key initiatives that align with company goals.
- Negotiation: Proficient in negotiating contracts and closing deals while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Networking: Ability to represent the company at industry events and build long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 – $150,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this open role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
