Cost Accountant

Cost accountants plan, study and collect data from bill of materials, routers, etc. to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.  They analyze changes in product design raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.

They also analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs if using standards or estimates.  They provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors, affective prices, and profitability of products or services.

Cost accountants also assist in accounting closing and preparation of financial statements each month.

Ideal candidates have Excellent MRP experience, Project accounting experience, standard costing experience, and experience in government contract costing and running audits.  They would also have knowledge in FAR/DOD regulations and incurred cost proposal.
