Role Description

The General Maintenance position is responsible for the installation and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. They provide support to the electrician and mechanics and maintain general housekeeping repairs around the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair small pneumatic, hydraulic, hand, electrical tools and equipment.
  • Assists with PM’s on equipment and tools with guidance and direction.
  • Move furniture, equipment, files, and other items to support office or manufacturing relocation’s.
  • Change filters on equipment, HVAC systems, autos, compressed gas lines, and other fluid systems.
  • Assists with installation of plumbing for compressed gases, water, vacuum, and other fluids.
  • Basic know how and material knowledge associated with use of cement, PVC types, mechanical joints, fittings, and other associated items.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, tools, vehicles, and conveyor systems.
  • Picks up refuse from plant grounds and maintains facilities appearance.
  • Operates forklift to transport materials within the plant.
  • Maintains good repair and maintenance of buildings, structures, and associated equipment.
  • Makes pick-ups & deliveries of materials & equipment.

Requirements:

  • Possess basic knowledge of measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Possess basic knowledge of CAL OSHA safety requirements.
  • Possess basic knowledge of tools of the trade (hand tools, power tools, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Willingness to join and comply with union rules and regulations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be safety oriented and follow all safety and plant rules.
  • Must be capable of respirator approved.
  • Must be able to be a certified Forklift Operator.
  • Must possess a California driving license and maintain it in good standing.
  • Must be able to work in various working conditions such as heights (25’), confined spaces, indoors, outdoors, rain, and/or summer heat.
  • Must be willing and able to work odd hours, weekends, and holidays.

The salary range for this role is $18-26 hourly. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this open role at the time of this posting.
