Leadership

As the Chief Executive Officer, Kevin is responsible for the overall business strategy, financial performance and successful execution of all programs at Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation. Kevin has been with AASC since 1991 and has held positions as Manufacturing Engineer, Plant Engineer, Sales & Marketing Engineer, Program Manager, Director of Programs & Operations and currently acting as Vice President of Programs & Operations. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from California State University, Stanislaus.

As the Chief Financial Officer, Rhonda is responsible for the overall financial, long-term planning and strategic management of Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation. In this role, Rhonda manages all the finance, human resources, purchasing, security and management information system activities. She has been in this position since 1996 when she joined AASC. Rhonda previously worked for Moss Adams, a regional CPA firm, directly out of college. Rhonda holds a CPA license and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

As the VP of Business Development and Programs, Patrick is responsible for the overall growth strategy of Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for all Sales and Marketing and Bid and Proposal activities as well as Engineering and Spacecraft Program Management Teams. Patrick has held various other roles at AASC including Sr. Program Manager, Space Business Unit Manager, Engineering Director and Director of Business Development since he was hired in 1996. He has been in his current position since 2020. Patrick previously worked for Lockheed Martin as a Research Engineer in their Satellite Electrical Power Systems group directly out of college. Patrick holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Arizona State University.

As the Director of Human Resources, Leandra is responsible for the employee experience, engagement, performance management, training & development, strategic initiatives, and everything in between as it relates to human resources functions. She joined the company in 2023. Leandra has over 20 years of direct experience in progressive human resources management positions in aerospace manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, engineering, and healthcare industries. Leandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, as well as her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Leandra is an active member in multiple Human Resources associations and has served many terms as Association President, Education Chair, and Membership Chair. When Leandra isn’t studying the ever-changing HR landscape, she gets her biggest joy from spending time with her husband and extended family, which includes her 15 nieces and nephews. She also loves to travel, especially to Maui, but has many other spots on the globe she’d like to visit in her lifetime.

As the Director of Quality Assurance, Mike is responsible for Applied Aerospace Structures Corporations compliance to and continuing registration to AS9100 and Nadcap special process accreditations. In addition to his role as compliance officer, Mike also drives corporate-wide continuous improvement initiatives to improve current processes in AASC’s business management system. Mike has also worked in the role of Sr. Program Manager at AASC, since he was hired in 2004, and has been in his current position since 2008. Mike previously worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space, GTE Government Systems, and Space Systems/Loral in satellite black box design and test as well as special operations system design and integration. Mike holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from California State University, Sacramento.
Mike has played the drums since the fourth grade and enjoys playing music with other musicians. When not banging on the drums, Mike along with his wife, enjoy the company of their three daughter’s families and three granddaughters.

As the Director of Engineering, Mike is responsible for supporting and managing customer requirements for design and build contracts, concurrent engineering efforts and materials and product development and testing. Mike has more than 30 years of space flight structures and antenna experience and has been the responsible engineer on many spaceflight sub systems including antennas, arrays, and structures, many for deep space science missions. Mike has a considerable background in composites, RF and antenna design and has received several awards and patents from within the space community. Mike graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Farnborough College of Technology and worked for Marconi Space and Defense in the UK before immigrating to the US in 1984 and joining RCA Astro Electronics in Princeton NJ. Mike worked through the heritage Astro organization of RCA, GE, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin leaving his position as a section manager in the antenna group in Newtown PA to join AASC in 1998.
