Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation (AASC), a leading manufacturer specializing in lightweight structures for the aerospace industry, announced it has purchased a new six (6) foot diameter by twelve (12) foot long autoclave as of May 3, 2017, enabling further production capacity.
“This autoclave is a sweet spot for us and will be able to support 70-75 percent of our products and will open up capacity on our three (3) larger autoclaves for future growth,” said Kevin Bidlack, Director of Operations at AASC.
The new autoclave is being supplied by Thermal Equipment Corporation which has provided all of AASC’s other four (4) autoclaves. This “off the shelf” autoclave will have typical 500 degree Fahrenheit temperature and 200 pounds per square inch pressure capability. The autoclave is expected to be delivered and operational by December 2017.
